Gertrude Kambauwa
Director of the Department of Land Resources Conservation - Ministry of Agriculture
Gertrude Kambauwa. Kambauwa is the Director of the Department of Land
Resources Conservation in the Ministry of Agriculture. She is a civil servant with vast
work experience and expertise in environmental management, sustainable land and
water management, and in climate change for adaptation and resilience building.
She is a Norman Borlaug Fellow and also a climate change negotiator for Africa
under the African Group of Negotiators in agriculture and gender. Gertrude is
currently involved in different platforms supporting the agenda of the Ministry and
Department including: The Soil Health Consortium for Malawi (SoHCoM); and the
National Conservation Agriculture Task Force (NCATF). Her passion is in
empowering less privileged land users by providing them with the needed
knowledge and skills for them to produce enough for their livelihoods sustainably
from the land which they have so that future generations can also benefit in the
same from it..
