Jonathan Agwe

Dr. Jonathan Agwe is the Lead Regional Technical Specialist in Rural Finance, Markets and Enterprises in the Sustainable Production, Markets and Institutions Division of the Strategy and Knowledge Department in IFAD. He provides cutting-edge technical advice to improve the capacity of IFAD and its partners to manage programmes, policies and strategies to promote access and use of sustainable inclusive rural financial services. He promotes active partnerships in inclusive rural finance and agricultural risk management. Before joining IFAD, he worked for the World Bank for 13 years. Also, he worked for over 12 years developing private and public sector programs for smallholder commercial agriculture in Cameroon. Jonathan has over 34 years of work experience and holds a Doctor of Management degree in development management and finance from the University of Maryland USA.
